By purchasing from Candles By The Quay, you agree to the following Terms and Conditions. Please read them carefully before placing your order.

1. Products

All our candles are handcrafted using high-quality soy wax. Due to the handmade nature of our products, slight variations in colour, texture, scent intensity, and appearance may occur. These variations are not considered defects but part of the unique charm of our candles.

2. Orders & Processing Time

All candles are made to order. Please allow 2–7 business days for production before dispatch. You will receive a confirmation email once your order has been shipped.

3. Pricing & Payment

All prices are listed in AUD and are inclusive of GST (if applicable). Payment is required in full at checkout. We accept major credit/debit cards, PayPal, and other payment methods as displayed at checkout.

4. Shipping

We ship within Australia. Shipping fees are calculated at checkout. While we do our best to meet delivery estimates, Candles By The Quay is not responsible for delays caused by postal or courier services.

Please ensure your shipping address is correct. We are not liable for lost orders due to incorrect address information provided at checkout.

5. Returns & Exchanges

Due to the handmade and fragile nature of our products, we do not offer returns for change of mind.

If your item arrives damaged, please contact us at info@candlesbythequay.com within 48 hours of delivery, with clear photos of the product and packaging. We will assess the issue and, if applicable, offer a replacement or refund.

6. Candle Safety

All candles sold by Candles By The Quay, including jar candles and decorative sculptural candles, must be used with care and according to standard candle safety practices. By purchasing from us, you acknowledge that it is your responsibility to follow these guidelines to ensure safe use.

General Safety Instructions

  • Never leave a burning candle unattended.
  • Keep candles away from flammable materials, children, and pets.
  • Burn candles on a flat, stable, and heat-resistant surface.
  • Avoid placing candles in drafty areas to prevent uneven burning and excessive dripping.
  • Do not move a lit candle. Allow it to cool completely before handling.

Jar Candles

  • Always trim the wick to approximately 5mm before each use.
  • For optimal performance and to prevent tunneling, allow the wax to melt across the entire surface on the first burn.
  • Do not burn for more than 3–4 hours at a time.
  • Discontinue use when approximately 1cm of wax remains at the bottom of the jar to prevent overheating or glass breakage.

Decorative Candles

  • Primarily intended for decorative use. If you choose to burn them, always place them on a non-flammable, heatproof dish or tray to catch melting wax.
  • Trim the wick to 5mm before each burn.
  • Burn for short periods only (1–2 hours at a time) and monitor closely.
  • Due to their sculptural design, decorative candles may burn unevenly or drip, which is a natural characteristic of the product.

Candles By The Quay is not liable for any injury, loss, or damage caused by misuse of our products or failure to follow proper candle safety guidelines.

7. Intellectual Property

All content on our website, including product images, logos, and text, is the property of Candles By The Quay and may not be used, copied, or reproduced without written permission.

8. Privacy

We respect your privacy. Any personal information collected during your purchase is used solely for order processing and communication. We do not share your information with third parties without your consent.

9. Changes to Terms

Candles By The Quay reserves the right to update or modify these Terms and Conditions at any time. Changes will be effective immediately upon posting to our website.
